LAPO Microfinance Bank is led by a motivated and stable Management Team.
Godwin .E. Ehigiamusoe - CEO
Mr. Ehigiamusoe is an experienced microfinance practitioner who began his career as a rural cooperative officer before he founded LAPO, a leading development and microfinance institution with operations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Master’s degree in Development Studies and a diploma in Cooperative Management. He has attended several capacity enhancing courses at Harvard Kennedy School, Lagos Business School, IESE Business School, Barcelona and INSEAD Business School, Singapore campus. Mr. Ehigiamusoe won the Model Entrepreneur Award – Nigeria in 2008 and the Schwab Foundation’s Outstanding Social Entrepreneur for Africa Award in 2010.
He has authored: Understanding NGOs (1998); Poverty and Microfinance in Nigeria (2000) and Issues in Microfinance: enhancing financial inclusion (2011).
Moses Ehigiamusoe - Head, Corporate Services
He has a rich experience in Microfinance Operations and Risk Management. He joined LAPO as a Branch Manager in 1994. Mr. Ehigiamusoe holds a certificate in Co-operative Studies, National Certificate in Business Education, Bachelor and Master’s degree in Business Education. He is an Associate member of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Marketers. He has attended several local and international training programmes in Microcredit Practice (1996), Product Pricing, Market Research , SMEs Management and Advanced Management.
Kamakhya Narain Singh - CFO
Prior to joining LAPO in 2010, Dr. Singh acquired thirteen years experience in microfinance, finance, and consultancy. He worked with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), a statutory financial institution of India responsible for the promotion, finance and development of micro, small and medium sector enterprises. He also provided advisory services to non-banking financial corporation microfinance institutions in India as well as the Asian Development Bank. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an MBA (Finance and Strategy) and a PhD (Strategic Management of Microfinance Institutions and their role in Sustainable Development) from Oxford University UK, and the Banaras Hindu University, India respectively. He is a member of the Indian Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) and Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
Josephine Nwachukwu - Head, Treasury Management
Ms. Nwachukwu has over twelve years experience in financial management and accounting within LAPO of which 8 years have been at management level. She had worked with Ogbodu Akinmeji & Co, a firm of Chartered Accountants. She holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance and MBA with bias for finance. She had also attended a number of local and international programmes in microfinance including the Microfinance Training Programme (MFT) in Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado.
Osadebamwen Elijah - Head, Operations
Prior to his elevation to the Head of Operations, Mr. Elijah has functioned in various units of LAPO since 2000 when he joined the institution. He has also served as Local Technical Service Provider for the Microstart Project of the UNDP. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) and MBA. He is an Associate Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM) and the National Institute of Marketing. Mr. Elijah has attended a number of local and international training programmes including Microfinance Training Programme, (MFI) Naropa University, Colorado, USA (2003).
Cynthia I. Ikponmwosa - Head, Corporate Affairs
Prior to joining LAPO as a Principal Programme Officer in 2001, Ms. Ikponmwosa Cynthia had worked with Akintola Williams Deloitte. She played a pivotal role in the transformation of LAPO NGO into a regulated microfinance bank. Ms. Ikponmwosa holds a first degree in English and Associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing.
Stanley Oriakhi - Head, Accounts and Reporting
Mr. Oriakhi is a professional accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Since he joined LAPO in 2001, he has functioned in various capacities in Finance and Operations departments. He holds a first degree in Accounting and an MBA with bias for Finance. Mr. Oriakhi has attended various training programmes in Credit Operations, Financial Management and Planning.
Paul Emgbouke - Head, People Unit
Mr. Emgbouke began his professional career as solicitor in a number of law firms. He joined LAPO in 2004 as Head of Human Resources. Mr. Emgbuoke has attended several courses in various aspects of people management. Some of which include, ‘Challenges of Human Resources Management in a Competitive Environment.’ September 2007 Nigerian Institute of Management, ‘Result-Oriented HR Policies and Practices for Competitive Advantage, 5th to 9th May 2008: Nigerian Institute of Management, Workshop on ‘The Human Resources Management for USAID Implementing Partners’ MSH Management Sciences for Health (in Conjunction with USAID) 31st -2nd April 2009, ‘Application of Information Technology in Human Resource Management Workshop’ September 6-10 2010 Centre for Management Development 2010.
