LAPO Adopts Client Protection Principles

LAPO Microfinance Bank Ltd has formally unveiled and adopted the six international principles of client protection designed to improve relationship between LAPO and her clients.
Managing Director, Godwin Ehigiamusoe said the principles, which include Avoidance of Over-Indebtedness, Transparent and Responsible Pricing, Appropriate Collections Practices, Staff Ethical Behaviour, Mechanisms for Redress of Grievances and Privacy of Client Data, are part of the microfinance-industry initiative to ensure that microfinance clients are protected against exploitation and un-ethical practices.
He stated that LAPO has evolved practical steps to realize the objectives of the principles and has acquainted clients across all branches of the organization of the development.
The ceremony, witnessed by CBN's Head of Development Finance, Benin, Mr. E.A. Osha, featured testimonies by several LAPO clients about how LAPO has positively transformed their lives and businesses.
