Persons infected with HIV may look healthy for years, during which he or she can infect others. Before getting sick with AIDS however, these are some of the common signs of HIV/AIDS:
- Persistent/recurrent fever
- Persistent/recurrent diarrhoea
- Frequent cough or TB
- Extreme weight loss (above 10%)
- Mouth sores/oral thrush
- Skin sores/rashes
- Mental illness
- Loss of appetite
- Night sweat and/ or not able to sleep well.
