LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited (LAPO MfB), a premium microfinance institution in Nigeria recently received a delegation from the World Bank at her Corporate Head Office in Maryland, Lagos State.

The World Bank delegation led by Elijah Abiodun Siakpere, was on a working visit to LAPO on the Bank’s Environment & Social Management System.

Oluremi Akande, Head of Communications and Branding for LAPO MfB who welcomed the World Bank team and extended the MD warm greetings, gave historical antecedents of LAPO’s leadership in the implementation of the Environment & Social Management System (ESMS).

The World Bank is one of the major institutional financiers of the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN), hence the visit was a follow-up to the engagement with DBN which informed the need to have a direct interaction with LAPO to validate the DBN’s feedback on the MFB.

The Bank was highly commended for its various initiatives on the implementation of sustainability processes, projects and its Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS).
